Son attribution reste discut\u00e9e, m\u00eame si elle est encore largement reprise aujourd\u2019hui. Le point important n\u2019est pas la l\u00e9gende. Le point important, c\u2019est ce qu\u2019elle r\u00e9v\u00e8le : dans beaucoup d\u2019organisations, on confond encore effort visible et intelligence du r\u00e9sultat (<a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/technology\/tech-news\/quote-of-the-day-by-bill-gates-i-choose-a-lazy-person-to-do-a-hard-job-because-a-lazy-person-will-find-an-easy-way-to-do-it-\/articleshow\/130069415.cms?utm_source=philippeboulanger.com\">Times of India<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/quoteinvestigator.com\/2014\/02\/26\/lazy-job\/?utm_source=philippeboulanger.com\">Quote Investigator<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le salari\u00e9 le plus dangereux de l\u2019entreprise n\u2019est donc pas le paresseux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est le glorificateur de la souffrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est celui qui transforme la lourdeur en vertu.<br>Celui qui prend la r\u00e9p\u00e9tition pour de la rigueur.<br>Celui qui voit dans l\u2019\u00e9puisement un signe de noblesse.<br>Celui qui prot\u00e8ge des m\u00e9thodes absurdes simplement parce qu\u2019elles lui sont famili\u00e8res.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce profil est dangereux parce qu\u2019il ralentit tout le monde tout en se donnant l\u2019apparence du s\u00e9rieux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il ne supprime pas les frictions.<br>Il les sanctuarise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-beaucoup-d-entreprises-recompensent-encore-le-mauvais-signal\">Beaucoup d\u2019entreprises r\u00e9compensent encore le mauvais signal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans trop d\u2019\u00e9quipes, le h\u00e9ros reste celui qui arrive t\u00f4t, repart tard, ouvre quinze fichiers, assiste \u00e0 toutes les r\u00e9unions et garde un visage grave devant un process inutile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il rassure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pourquoi ?<br>Parce qu\u2019il donne le spectacle du labeur.<br>Et ce spectacle a longtemps servi de preuve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le probl\u00e8me est que nous avons chang\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9poque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui, les organisations croulent sous ce qu\u2019Asana appelle le \u201cwork about work\u201d : coordination excessive, t\u00e2ches en double, r\u00e9unions inutiles, circulation d\u2019information mal con\u00e7ue. Selon son index 2025, 60 % du temps de travail est absorb\u00e9 par ce \u201ctravail autour du travail\u201d, et le salari\u00e9 moyen passe 103 heures par an dans des r\u00e9unions inutiles (<a href=\"https:\/\/asana.com\/resources\/why-work-about-work-is-bad?utm_source=philippeboulanger.com\">Asana<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ajoutez \u00e0 cela les constats d\u2019Atlassian : les r\u00e9unions sont identifi\u00e9es comme le premier obstacle \u00e0 la productivit\u00e9 par les travailleurs du savoir interrog\u00e9s, et 78 % disent qu\u2019elles les emp\u00eachent de faire correctement leur vrai travail (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlassian.com\/blog\/productivity\/replace-meetings-asynchronous-collaboration?utm_source=philippeboulanger.com\">Atlassian<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Autrement dit : dans beaucoup d\u2019entreprises, on applaudit encore des gens pour survivre dans un syst\u00e8me mal con\u00e7u, au lieu de promouvoir ceux qui auraient d\u00fb le simplifier depuis longtemps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-simplifier-n-est-pas-tricher-c-est-penser\">Simplifier n\u2019est pas tricher, c\u2019est penser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Quand quelqu\u2019un automatise une t\u00e2che, fusionne trois validations en une, remplace un reporting manuel par un flux propre ou supprime six \u00e9tapes sans perdre en qualit\u00e9, il ne travaille pas moins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il travaille mieux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est exactement l\u00e0 que beaucoup de cultures d\u2019entreprise d\u00e9rapent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elles tol\u00e8rent l\u2019optimisation tant qu\u2019elle reste modeste.<br>Elles l\u2019adorent tant qu\u2019elle ne menace personne.<br>Elles s\u2019en m\u00e9fient d\u00e8s qu\u2019elle r\u00e9v\u00e8le une v\u00e9rit\u00e9 embarrassante :<br>une partie du travail n\u2019avait aucune raison d\u2019exister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et c\u2019est cela qui crispe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Car simplifier, ce n\u2019est pas seulement gagner du temps.<br>C\u2019est exposer les rituels inutiles.<br>C\u2019est montrer que certaines r\u00e9unions n\u2019\u00e9taient qu\u2019un d\u00e9cor.<br>C\u2019est prouver que certains tableaux, certains circuits de validation, certains reporting ou certains r\u00f4les n\u2019apportaient pas la valeur qu\u2019on leur pr\u00eatait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La simplification est un r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur.<br>Voil\u00e0 pourquoi elle d\u00e9range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-faux-merite-est-un-cout-cache\">Le faux m\u00e9rite est un co\u00fbt cach\u00e9<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le glorificateur de la souffrance adore les phrases suivantes :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOn a toujours fait comme \u00e7a.\u201d<br>\u201cIl faut bien passer par l\u00e0.\u201d<br>\u201cC\u2019est plus prudent.\u201d<br>\u201cOn verra plus tard pour automatiser.\u201d<br>\u201cPour l\u2019instant, on fait \u00e0 la main.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tout cela a l\u2019air raisonnable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, c\u2019est souvent du conservatisme maquill\u00e9 en professionnalisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pendant ce temps, les gains potentiels s\u2019\u00e9vaporent.<br>L\u2019\u00e9nergie mentale baisse.<br>Les talents les plus lucides se lassent.<br>Les meilleurs simplificateurs finissent soit marginalis\u00e9s, soit r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9s, soit partis ailleurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gallup montre d\u2019ailleurs qu\u2019en 2025, l\u2019engagement mondial des salari\u00e9s n\u2019\u00e9tait que de 20 %, avec un co\u00fbt \u00e9conomique massif li\u00e9 au d\u00e9sengagement. Ce type de climat n\u2019est pas seulement un probl\u00e8me RH. C\u2019est un probl\u00e8me strat\u00e9gique (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/workplace\/349484\/state-of-the-global-workplace.aspx?utm_source=philippeboulanger.com\">Gallup<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une organisation peut donc continuer \u00e0 tourner tout en s\u2019ab\u00eemant int\u00e9rieurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elle garde du chiffre.<br>Elle garde des process.<br>Elle garde des r\u00e9unions.<br>Elle garde des gens occup\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et elle perd peu \u00e0 peu sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 respirer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-l-ia-va-rendre-cette-hypocrisie-encore-plus-visible\">L\u2019IA va rendre cette hypocrisie encore plus visible<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019intelligence artificielle ne se contente pas d\u2019ajouter un outil de plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elle agit comme un test de v\u00e9rit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quand une \u00e9quipe utilise l\u2019IA pour r\u00e9diger plus vite, synth\u00e9tiser mieux, automatiser l\u2019administratif, pr\u00e9parer un support plus propre ou r\u00e9duire du travail r\u00e9p\u00e9titif, elle r\u00e9v\u00e8le imm\u00e9diatement une ligne de fracture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9, ceux qui voient une opportunit\u00e9 de retirer de la friction.<br>De l\u2019autre, ceux qui d\u00e9fendent le volume de souffrance comme unit\u00e9 de mesure de la valeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le d\u00e9calage est d\u00e9j\u00e0 visible. McKinsey montre que les salari\u00e9s sont souvent plus pr\u00eats pour l\u2019IA que leurs dirigeants ne l\u2019imaginent, alors que les blocages viennent fr\u00e9quemment du leadership et de l\u2019organisation du travail plut\u00f4t que des \u00e9quipes elles-m\u00eames (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/capabilities\/tech-and-ai\/our-insights\/superagency-in-the-workplace-empowering-people-to-unlock-ais-full-potential-at-work?utm_source=philippeboulanger.com\">McKinsey<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le rapport AI Index 2025 de Stanford souligne lui aussi qu\u2019un volume croissant de recherches confirme les gains de productivit\u00e9 li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019IA, souvent avec un effet de r\u00e9duction de certains \u00e9carts de comp\u00e9tence (<a href=\"https:\/\/hai.stanford.edu\/ai-index\/2025-ai-index-report?utm_source=philippeboulanger.com\">Stanford HAI<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela ne veut pas dire que tout usage de l\u2019IA cr\u00e9e automatiquement de la valeur. Cela veut dire autre chose : l\u2019entreprise qui reste attach\u00e9e au culte de l\u2019effort visible va de plus en plus entrer en collision avec ceux qui savent redesign\u00ader le travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ce-que-les-dirigeants-devraient-enfin-comprendre\">Ce que les dirigeants devraient enfin comprendre<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Une entreprise moderne ne devrait plus promouvoir celui qui additionne les efforts.<br>Elle devrait promouvoir celui qui retire les frictions sans d\u00e9grader la qualit\u00e9.<br>Celui qui clarifie.<br>Celui qui structure.<br>Celui qui \u00e9limine l\u2019absurde.<br>Celui qui prot\u00e8ge l\u2019\u00e9nergie collective.<br>Celui qui rend le travail plus intelligent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans mon livre, chapitre 5, j\u2019insiste justement sur des outils con\u00e7us pour r\u00e9duire la friction, faciliter l\u2019action et remettre l\u2019\u00e9nergie au bon endroit : l\u00e0 o\u00f9 la valeur se cr\u00e9e vraiment, pas l\u00e0 o\u00f9 l\u2019on entretient le th\u00e9\u00e2tre de l\u2019occupation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce d\u00e9placement est majeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pendant des d\u00e9cennies, beaucoup d\u2019organisations ont g\u00e9r\u00e9 la performance comme si l\u2019effort visible suffisait \u00e0 prouver l\u2019utilit\u00e9.<br>Dans un monde satur\u00e9 d\u2019outils, d\u2019automatisation et d\u2019IA, cette logique devient de moins en moins d\u00e9fendable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La raret\u00e9 n\u2019est plus dans la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 faire plus.<br>La raret\u00e9 est dans la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 faire juste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-les-nouveaux-leaders-ne-glorifieront-plus-l-epuisement\">Les nouveaux leaders ne glorifieront plus l\u2019\u00e9puisement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le manager utile demain ne sera pas celui qui dira :<br>\u201cFaites un effort suppl\u00e9mentaire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce sera celui qui demandera :<br>\u201cPourquoi cette friction existe-t-elle encore ?\u201d<br>\u201cQu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019on peut retirer ?\u201d<br>\u201cQu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019on peut simplifier ?\u201d<br>\u201cQu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019on peut automatiser ?\u201d<br>\u201cQu\u2019est-ce qui fatigue l\u2019\u00e9quipe sans cr\u00e9er de valeur ?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voil\u00e0 le basculement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le sujet n\u2019est plus la quantit\u00e9 de douleur qu\u2019une organisation est capable d\u2019absorber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le sujet est la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019absurde qu\u2019elle accepte encore de tol\u00e9rer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et c\u2019est l\u00e0 qu\u2019on reconna\u00eet les entreprises qui avancent vraiment :<br>elles cessent d\u2019admirer ceux qui portent le syst\u00e8me sur leur dos,<br>et elles commencent \u00e0 \u00e9couter ceux qui savent enfin le redessiner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
