Growing up in France, I was the kid who couldn't accept “that's just how it's done” as a reason to stop looking for better ways.

When my parents told 14-year-old me that I’d have to wait and save up for a moped, I found a faster way—gathering parts from multiple wrecks to build one myself. When IBM moved too slowly for my entrepreneurial spirit, I quit to start my first venture. When everyone said cryptographic software was too niche in 1984, I was already selling it.

This instinct to experiment, to push boundaries, to ask “what if we tried something different?” has shaped everything I’ve done since: from working at Apple during Steve Job’s return to launching VAIO PCs across Europe at Sony to leading 1,100+ engineers in multinational R&D teams as Chief Technical Officer of the Neopost group.

But here's what I discovered along the way: brilliant people consistently get trapped by invisible barriers that prevent breakthrough thinking.

Whether it’s cognitive biases, cultural programming, communication breakdowns, or organizational structures that reward conformity, the same pattern emerged everywhere:

Innovation stalls… not due to a lack of talent or resources, but because of how our minds work against new ideas.

That’s the moment I knew I had to leave the corporate world. Not because it was broken, but because I’d found the real problem worth solving.
